Reviews
We were drinking steadily throughout the night, having a great time and playing cards. Suddenly the bartender comes up to us and aggressively tells us we have to put away the cards? So we did and later I went up to her to ask her why. She told me that when people play cards they don’t order anymore, which I found ridiculous. We ordered quite enough and the place wasn’t even full! Would never come back here, the most bizarre thing that has ever happened to me in a bar.
Cafe is possibly a misnomer as it is in fact a bar, and does not do food. It has become a favourite of ours from around midnight for having a couple of beers and a Koks - the house speciality (coffee beans crunched and then a shot of Inländer Rum and a sugar cube soaked in it). The jukebox is very old school, the bar undecorated possibly since the 80s. Character-packed.
Very cosy local bar (conveniently near my hotel), untroubled by tourists (except me). The clientele is mostly under 30, but the barmaid is closer to my age (let's say, mature).
The locals were having great fun with the jukebox, which plays real 7-inch vinyl records. I recognised about one in five of the songs.
I had a pint of Puntigamer.
Sat next to a neo-nazis meeting in the bar, which was the most uncomfortable experience of my life. I would ask of everyone to never ever go there and support this establishment.
Love it or leave it !
One of my most favorite cafes ever. Smoking allowed. Food and drinks are great. Relaxing ambiance with the vintage & retro atmosphere. ❤
An old viennese classic. smoke, beer and a jukebox. something before or after a night out. During the week or on weekends. The new owners are not as cool and attentive as the old ones but that's how it is.
At first sight, the place was like traveling through past, with its vintage stuff everywhere. The treatment of the waitress was good, and the things that we ordered were super, specially the rum shot with sugar and coffee grains. Totally recommended!
Also, I have to advise that, in the first moments, we were a bit uncomfortable, because people throws the beer mats to everyone. Our Austrian friend told us that it was almost like a tradition, so we followed people, and, at the end, we had so much fan!
